I walked a gazillion and two miles today

Today was supposed to be the day I was returning to Louisiana from my annual trip to Seattle. But that didn't happen. For a lot of reasons, Gustav for starters. And airline confusion and packed flights for other reasons.

So, I spent the morning working on organizing things and making a plan for getting work done from a temporary remote office overlooking Safeco Field in Seattle.

Then I spent the afternoon walking all over my favorite city. I took a cab to Capitol Hill, where I ate lunch and bought some new shoes. (There's something about Seattle and fantastic shoe finds that always go hand-in-hand for me.)

After munching on an eggplant sandwich - by far the healthiest meal I've had since arriving Friday - I decided to trek down to Pike's Place Market. And over to the Space Needle. And 30 or 40 blocks back to 5th Avenue to see what time Shrek The Musical is playing.

Aside from trying to design Web sites and get my work done from afar, I'm going to be filling up my evenings with all kinds of good stuff. I figure while I'm here - my flight back isn't until the weekend now - I should make the most of the place I love to visit.

Thankfully, after a decadent weekend of too many calories, I hopefully knocked off a couple of those spare pounds.
