Reliving my college days

Today wasn't a great day ... at all. And usually I would use that as an excuse for a new pair of shoes.

But, instead of my usual retail therapy, I decided on vacation therapy. Even though I sort of had plans to return to my alma mater this fall for a K-State football game, I didn't plan on making such a quick decision. It was just what I needed, though.

So, after my day started off on the wrong foot, I pulled out the credit card and, bam, I'm going to Manhattan, Kansas, in late September.

Already I've talked to four college friends to get them there, too. I want to relive my days in Aggieville — tearing it up at Rusty's Last Chance — and making my rounds to grab a drink at Auntie Mae's. I hope Mae's is still there. I haven't been back in so long.

But I'm ready. And let me tell you something — vacation therapy is the new retail therapy. I just hope I don't have too many more bad days.

Auntie Mae's is still there, but I haven't been in there in years! Believe it or not, I don't drink at all anymore. I'm absolutely no fun. ;)

Which game are you coming to? Cliff and I are going to try to make it to a few, but he works at the barber shop on Saturdays, so that might thwart us.

I'm going to the University of Louisiana-Lafayette game. I can't wait.

DARN. Had you decided to go to the Texas Tech game on Oct. 4, we'd be in Manhappenin' at the same time!
