OMG, I met Mandy Moore!

Sometimes you're just in the right place at the right time.

During the weekend of concerts, I also decided to show my friend Jen around New Orleans before the big Mandy Moore/Rachael Yamagata show at the House of Blues. So, we arrived early and started walking to Bourbon Street.

As we made our way, a missed turn took us right by the House of Blues. It was there, just at that moment, that Mandy Moore's tour bus pulled up to the venue. I decided we should hang out for a few minutes — it should be noted I claimed to be done with celebrity stalking no less than 24 hours earlier.

Well, the decision to hang out was a good one for us. Within a few minutes, Mandy stepped off the bus and made her way across the street to a record store. Suddenly, I was in need of some new CDs. So, I went into the store and made a plan to ask for a photo.

After 10 minutes or so pretending to be interested in the vinyl section, I decided to go back outside and wait. Mandy was, after all, at the counter buying a CD and a magazine.

As soon as she walked out of the store, I was there waiting. "Mandy, can I get a picture?" I asked. Her answer is obvious.

I went on to talk to her about her new CD and share with her my excitement about the concert. That concert, by the way, was incredible. She even performed a cover of Rihanna's "Umbrella." It was freakin' awesome, and you should check her out. For real.
